PC no longer powering on

Hi Guys,

I have an older PC, which previously would randomly become unresponsive after an inconsistent amount of idle time (never when under load), like it went to sleep and would never recover.

Today - no response from the power button. No fans, beeps etc.

There is power going to the motherboard, but otherwise nothing.

I am going to start swapping bits tomorrow from what I can find, but is there anything that seems obvious?

Main Specs

FX 8350
Sabertooth 990FX
RX480
2x8GB
Corsair HX650

2x SSD, 1x HDD

Any tips would be welcomed. I am thinking PSU?

first thing to do would be to test the mobo with another psu and see what happens. If it fires up it’s a case of a new psu.

You can clear the cmos and replace the bios battery just to be safe, too.Try to keep the computer a little bit plugged in before power on.

Thanks for all the responses, managed to attach an old PSU which started up the fans etc. It was only connected to the motherboard so nothing booted, but certainly gets further than it does with the corsair.

Would anyone be able to recommend a suitable 600/650w replacement?

Thanks

Edit:
KOLINK ENCLAVE 600W 80 PLUS GOLD MODULAR POWER Supply?

You could get away with a 550w PSU with that system so you could save some £££ below are a couple of 650w units if thats what you want... I don't know what budget your after, I should've asked really :p

Corsair has 10 warranty
Bitfenix 7 year warranty
