Hey

Well i took out my tuniq fan and cable tied a zalman 120mm fan to each side to quieten it down and help cooling. I also might have put some strees on the psu cables as I left most things connected and had to pull out the PSU a little bit to remove my rear fan.

Then pushed it back in, unplugged and re-installed the cables into the modular corsair hx520, tidyed them up and got going.... BUT NO POST.

I thought that I might have put too much stress on the tuniq when cable tieing fans, but unlikely, tried some new RAM too as TEAM stuff fails a lot.

Ok, have got my multimeter out as when it doesn't pot the 2 warning red LEDs on my x1900xt stay lit (power and something else), so I assume that the 6-pin-6-pin power from the psu might have been damaged. When testing 3/4 of the wires have resistance but the other 2/3 don't so it seems that they may have been damaged ????? Correct ?

Will go and try to find a molex to 6-pin converter cable somewhere. Any other thinks to try out, i will be re-assembling out of case just incase.

Right powered on the PSU with multimeter attached, and each of the 3 sets of wires on the PCI-E cable read around 12.8V, I guess that is ok ?

Now the 2 LEDs on the 1900xt are the T_fault and EXT-PWR, so some soort of fault on the card and not receiving external power.

So this looks like the gfx dead, but could it be the mobo at all ???

EDIT: molex connections and the PCI-E connector actually show 13V..... Little high from the corsair 520 but still within 10% spec ???????

Erm still dead as a dodo.

Put in the new gfx card (cheap £10 ati thing) and still nothing.

I have a cheap gigabyte P31 board to test with that i can pick up this weekend. How much worse will this boared be than the P5B-D for overclocking and general performance ?

How have you come on I am in the same baot with an E6300, asus p5b-d, x1900xt, and corsair hx520.

Removing components and powering on doesn't give any warning beeps from mobo, tried new mem and gfx, still nothing.

But the most important thing is that my new gfx card is a really really cheap ati £10 thing which doesn't need a 6-pin cable. Now when startin gup the pc the gfx fan doesn't even spin.

Mobo ?
