Hi all, this morning I left my PC on it's side for a while whilst some work was being done in my room. I came back from college to find it won't boot into windows :(

The hard drive is a Seagate Barracuda 7200.12

I've checked the power cables etc. and they're all in OK, I'm guessing it's the hard drive that's failed as there's a regular clicking noise coming from that area of the case when it's on.

I suppose it could be the power supply as it's not exactly what you would call a reliable/well known brand (Alpine 650w), but I haven't noticed anything wrong with it :/

Hope there's something that can be done :P

double check the power cable going to the hdd, pull out the memory and plug back in,can pop the mb battery out for half hour then put back n try

Life saver :D I was starting to think I'd have to take some money out of my upgrade funds to get a new HDD. All works again now, thank you

Edit: Still not exactly sure what caused it in the first place, but I'm glad it's fixed, and as far as I can tell I haven't lost any data :)
