Hi,

When I turn on my main PC all seems normal for a few seconds, then it seems to turn off / power cuts out, then few seconds later it turns back on and carries on booting up. However I can't get the monitor to display anything, it says "Entering power saving mode" then just goes black.

I've tried with another monitor had the same problem. I've also fiddled with all the power cables and connectors reconncting them etc, and got rid of some dust inside the PC.

The PC was working perfectly fine last night and I didn't change anything.

What can I do? What could be causing this?

Any help appreciated. Thanks. :)

edit: specs are: Q6600, 4gb, GTX260, Vista 64

Ok looks like one of my RAM sticks has died.

Removed them 1 by 1 and rebooted, was the same with all of them even when just 1 was remaining, then I removed the last one and put one of the others in and it booted up normally..

So I added the sicks back in 1 by 1 and it kept booting up normally, untill I added the last one then I had the original problem again. So presumably this last one has died :p

Thanks for help all.
