hi guys, few days ago i started havig some heat issues with my old P4 3.06ghz,so i ordered Akasa 455 thermal paste, yesterday i opend up the pc and applied the thermal paste, everything went smooth,pc booted up with a bit of low temperature....suddenly a sound came from internal speakers and pc was halt,i tried to restart but no luck...i took out the power plug, now i started it again, fans spined but no post screen or anything,no beeps nothing, HDDs were running too, after few tries to restart,it totaly went dead, when i plug it innothing happens but USB hub and mouse lights are on, when i plug it out system fan and case fan spins for a second and then dead. i tried the PSU with other system so it is fine

What's the entire spec? (Plus, make and age of PSU?)

Firstly, re-check all connections and clear the CMOS - then test.

If that doesn't work clear the CMOS and disconnect the HDD's, optical drives and all peripherals (apart from keyboard.). Basically, only have the CPU, 1 stick of memory and the gfx connected and relevent power connectors (skeleton setup).

Try booting up...

EDIT: Check also that the motherboard is securely fitted and isn't loose/moving about on the risers.

Specs are p4 3.06ghz, gigabyte ga-8ipe1000pro , and 1.5 gb ram, 300w PSU, some old **** PSU by apolo,Ati 9550.
I already tried all of that above, still no luck ..... as i said PSU is working fine on other motherboard

So you've tried the PSU, presumably in a similar specced machine and that worked. Have you tried the memory and the graphics card in another PC? If they work then that'll narrow it down to a problem with either the mobo or the cpu. The other thing to try (carefully) is see if you can power up the system with the mobo outside the case.

I havnt tried the GPU and memory in other system yet,......but already tried to boot up the mootherboard out of the case, placed it in wooden desk.....still no luck,i thinl k something gone wrong with mobo?

sounding like a mobo issue unfortunatly, but like suggeted try as many different parts in another machine to narrow it down.
