Hi guys, a little advice please.
I am in the process of doing an upgrade - just waiting on the Mobo.
Anyways, I was sorting out my old PC -
Intel Q6600
Abit IP35 Pro
4gb Corsiar XMS2
MSI 6950 Twin Frozr 3
Corsair TX650 PSU
The story, started up fine - not touched it in ages - The fans were on full for some reason, so went into the uGuru software, turned them to quiet. Went on with my business of sorting through pictures etc etc for the format ready for the new system. Then the PC went weird.
The case made a beep (quiet) then a couple of more, the PC locked and then shut down. Before it locked I had a quick look at the desktop, the core clock software only showed 32oC on the cores.
I thought that was weird, so restarted and now all it does is boot for 10 secs and shut down.
The mobo have an indicator of 8.7 on it. But sometimes it stays booting (no beeps) and flicks to 8.8 then back to 8.7.
Can someone shed some light on this please. As I really dont want to have to buy a new gfx or PSU.
Also when I start it up, no beeps, no gfx - the monitor stays in standby.
Any advice is great. I am going to reset the CMOS. I assume this is the best way? Unplug power, move jumper, remove battery. Leave for half hour? Then insert battery, then move jumper and reinsert the power?
Thanks in advance.
Ed
