Hi guys, hope this is the right place to ask.

I'm very bad with a lot of technical/hardware stuff so please bear with me.

Basically what the title says, I've had this issue since i bought the PC (pre-built).
The PC fan turns on and the monitor says its receiving signal but will just sit on a black screen indefinetly.
Monitor wont go into standby, acting as if its receiving the picture.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this? Could this be anything on my end that doesn't flag up in repairs/tests?

My PC is under warranty, but this will be the 3rd time sending the PC back for repairs for the exact same issue. I'm just getting a bit worn out of having to constatly reboot the PC and pack it every other month.

I'm even wondering if this isue is so trivial and not even worth having to send for repairs since it can be fixed simply turning the computer on and off again. I'm just worried that it could be a noticably bad hardware problem that would get worse over time.

Specs if needed:

Team Group Vulcan Z T-Force 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHz Dual Channel Kit - Grey

Edit:
I know the first time sent back, they replaced the PSU with a different model.
Not 100% certain what the notes on the second on meant, but can post them if anyone thinks it would be relevant?

Have you tried a different port in the gpu and also a different monitor cable or a different monitor

Check to see if your monitor has any firmware updates.

Can you hear Windows load up screen sound ?

"Have you tried a different port in the gpu and also a different monitor cable or a different monitor"

Since getting the PC, i've also got a second monitor of the same brand. (One was having displayport issues but thats exclusively HDMI now and no problems)
So the same problem carries over both monitors with both a displayport and hdmi.

By different port do you mean from inside the computer or outside? If its on the inside is this simple to swap over?

"Check to see if your monitor has any firmware updates."
I went to the AOC website and downloaded the drivers. One of them was an ICC profile? I opened it but nothing happened so i've no clue. Devicemanager says its also up to date.

"Can you hear Windows load up screen sound ?"
No, no sounds at all, just a black screen. (When i was having Displayport issues with the monitor i had, i would run into the issue where i could hear the windows sounds in the background)
However with this current issue no such sounds at all, seems like its not even making it to the login screen.

I should also say this only seems to happen maybe once every 10-20 times i boot? After a restart it works perfectly normal.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

The first one was a Kolink Core Series 700W 80 Plus Certified Power Supply.
The second one provided was the same brand and its an Enclave 80 Plus Gold.

Also here is the note from the second RMA:
(SYSTEM REPAIR: Other (Not Listed), Component Failure, GPU failure, PC has had a fresh w10 install also, issues reported have been resolved. PC boots up with no issues, all display ports tested with no issues found. PC passes all the stress tests with good temps and no crashing etc. )
The display port issue was actually due to a faulty monitor but they offered to test the ports as well just to be sure.

Hope this helps!

I ment a diffrent display port from the 3070 to the monitor.

Kolink psu are pants although overclockers changed the psu to a slightly better model i would expext a fault to show up more than one in 20 boots.

Long shot but i would download memtest and test for instability but again would expect fault to show up in windows not just at boot.

What motherboard do you have may be a bios update may resolve it but its risky and may void warranty without clearance from Overclockers.

Ill give the other displayport a try from tomorrow, could take a while for the next problem thought but ill update if it happens again.

Anything that could risk the warranty like a BIOS update, i'd rather send back if thats needed. It sounds a bit out of my comfort zone lol.
Would the memtest be risky as well or should that be all safe? If so i can give that a go as well.

Motherboard: Asus Prime Z490-P (Socket LGA 1200) DDR4 ATX Motherboard.
Looks like theres a version 1620 on the website meant wor W11? On command prompt mines says 1602.

Really appreciate your time with this man thanks.

Just giving you options but leave the bios , memtest is not risky at all it just tests the memory for errors.

Let us know how you get on, use the quote button on thd bottom of each post to reply and ill get a notofication.

Good luck.

Hi there,

Switched over the Displayport and also used my old PCs power cable just incase, but ran into the same issue again this morning.
Also done a memtest on one of the RAM sticks, no issues but i underestimated on how long it would take to do this so ill give the other one a test another time.

Just decided to call OCUK and they've given me a list of things to try out as well, before sending the PC back to them.

Thanks again for all your time with this issue again man. Take care.

I'll provide an update if I or OCUK ever find out what was causing the issue. Incase it'll help someone else.
