PC Not posting with new GFX or SSD drives

Hi Guys,

Have a 700watt PSU and when I plug in my new 390x, moving from 6970 I am getting no boot up. Monitor goes to Energy saving and it shuts down.

This is the same when I plug old GFX card back in and plug my newer SSDs the machine will switch on but no image! What could be the problem?

What inputs are you using on the card? DVI / hdmi etc?

HDMI mate, this is what the 6970 was using. But why do the SSD drives not work when old GFX card is installed?

Are the PCI lanes on your mobo gen 2?

are you running the latest mobo bios ?

I guess so was bought in 2011 its a 1155 board. And yes latest BIOS.
Again that doesn't explain the SSD drives preventing the unit from booting.

Did you double check to see your running latest BIOS? Does pc display BIOS screens if just the new GPU is installed and no ssd?
