PC not posting!!

My girlfriend's PC has stopped posting all of a sudden!

First of all it would just turn on and CPU fan would go mental! But no output on the screen.

So I reset the CMOS and the fan issue has stopped but still no post!

So I unplugged all devices removed ram and put single sticks in and the same! I have removed the pci graphics and tried to run it off the built in graphics and still the same problem.

You guys got any ideas?

Could be the psu? Do you have a spare one to test?

Only other thing it leaves is mobo, although I doubt it.

Its odd though because the unit is nearly brand new and everything whurrs up when you turn it on.

That being said I can only drew a conclusion with psu or mobo.

Annoying thing is that its one of those slimline hp pc's bit like the ones you get in an office so it has a special style/shape psu so I can't test it as the only other one I have in the house is an old style one.

Sounds like the psu has had it. Can you not build it ouside the case and just attach a different psu to power it?
