yeah the click is coming from the speaker, unplugged to make sure and no click

plug in and starts with a click

Does your new cooler connect its power cable directly to the mobo, or to a molex or something. It could be that the mobo is shutting the PC down because it cant detect a cooler on the CPU fan header and shuts down as a safety feature... Its happened to me before

it connects via molex, tried pugging in my old fan though into the CPU cooler slot and it still did the same the cooler just twitched

have tried plugging in a ps2 keyboard as per advice someone at work and none of the lights light up on the keyboard so does this sound lke a proble with the motherboard?
