So, I was in a middle of a gaming session in BF3 and my computer all of sudden had a restart. And upon reading a message in the BIOS telling me about my MOBO detecting a power surge from my power supply.

It worked normally after the restart but again when I was browsing the net for solutions for the problem, I had another restart and this time my computer won't turn back on. It would but only for a split second. Tried replacing a new power cable as was suggested by the seller but unfortunately I had the same results.

My pc was recently built and bought by myself and was working without any hitches for the past 2 weeks

Any chance you have another power supply you can test it with?

Seems odd that it would do that being only 2 weeks old though

Unfortunately I don't have a spare PSU :(

pop out the motherboard cmos battery for 5 minutes then put back in and try

power surge could be a false alarm due to a bad crash, enable x.m.p if your memory supports it,it will setup the right timings/voltages

I'll try this method

Thankee both

edit: Popping out the cmos battery don't work, no changes at all. If only I had a spare PSU
edit: I don't have any access to the BIOS since my PC only turns on for a half a second or less rofl
