Got an old gaming rig on Asus p8z68 v-pro mobo, but came back from holiday yesterday and now it won't power up.
The week before the cd drive got stuck open and it did seem to struggle to turn on once (from memory) but did boot. Not sure if related.
Now nothing happens at all. The lights are on on the mobo and graphic card so seems power is there.
Have since unplugged the cd drive but not helped.
Also I did give it a quick clean / pull out the power plug from PSU and then tried again. It got one fan spinning a tiny amount before failing to do anything else.
Any suggestions or ideas what issue could be?
Did find a YouTube vid that suggested using a paper clip in the power plug and/or shorting with screwdriver.
In addition there is a red power button and orange reset button on my motherboard. Will this override the "main" power button if I use instead?
Thanks
