Hey guys,

I built my first ever PC a number of months ago and for the first couple of months it was running perfectly. However, over the last month or so I haven't been able to make heads or tails of what the problem is.

When windows is booted and then it acts normally and then it suddenly freezes where theres no responsiveness at all. When I go to reboot, no image comes up on the monitor and the only way ive seemed to be able to fix that problem is if I take out the gfx card and then re-insert it but that only works about 50% of the times ive tried.

It also sometimes has trouble booting up windows at all and just freezes on the "windows loading" screen.

Does anyone know of anything I can try to fix or know what the problem is? Please any help would be much appreciation.

Specs for the PC:
AMD 1090T
Megahalems w/ 1x asaka viper fan
120GB OCZ Vertex 2E
2x 2TB Samsung F4's
Asus Crosshair Formula IV
Coolermaster Silent Pro Gold 1200W
ATI Radeon HD5970

off the top of my head

check your bios settings and load default settings input bios settings again u might even want to update to newest bios for that board

wrong settings will mess with your startup wrong voltages on your ram can cause windows to crash or blue screen

u might want to try the second pcie x16 slot make sure ur using the latest drivers

remove all power connections and reconnect.

think to when u first noticed the problem did u open the case and knock a connection?

Thanks for the reply hlennie :)

Im going to give it a go in about an hour been such a busy day sigh I just hope it works as its essential for me to get this PC working a lot of hand in's for my Computer Science degree over the next couple of weeks.
