ok, so i have issues with the desktop fitting on the screen properly @ 1920x1080 but if i set certain games to it then they fit fine on the screen.
so the spec for my tv says its native res is 1920x1080 (Bush LT42M1CFA) is there something im doing wrong? is it my gfx card (9800GTX+) causing the problems?

Have a look in your nvidia drivers and see if there is a 'Scaling Options' menu anywhere, and set the overscan to 0%. This is the case in CCC which creates a black border round the screen, so there'll be something similar for you.

i cant find anything for scaling, it says in the help file that its there for non hd flat panels, but i dont get that option, so possibly as mine is hd?

on my tv it was menu - settings - screen settings then the display area option was available with the options of full pixel, normal, -1 and -2.
i've tried googling to find a manual for your tv to try and work it out for you but i can't find one :(
are you using a vga cable or hdmi ?

in nvidia control panel then if you go to adjust desktop size and position it should give you an option to adjust the screen manually with the 4 green arrows, try that and see if that works.

Have same issue, in the nividia control panel under windows display settings, you can set custom resolutions using some slider bars, so you may end up with something like
1918x1072 or whatever.

do you have any display area options at all in your tv menu ?
if so what are they, your looking for something like either full pixel or pixel 1-1 ratio or similar.

so are we saying its the tv thats holding it back and not the gfx card?
reason i ask is, fifa 10 plays fine in 1920x1080 res, everything is on the screen as it should be. this is why its sooo frustrating, as i know that its capable, as games that give you the option to go higher than the desktop res work fine on 1920x1080.

i do think its the settings on the tv, i had the same problem with my 2600 xt in my htpc until i changed my tv setting to full pixel, there was nothing i could do in ccc to stop my desktop being to large for my screen at 1920 x 1080 :(
