2Mb download and maybe 1.5Mb/2Mb upload as minimum.

The problem though comes with the ping/lag/jitter caused by such a **** connection :D

depends what service you;re on i get 17meg up with sky on their fibre to the cabinet connection which should be the same for any other isp offering it.
