I think that's the problem, at least.
I have two sticks of 2gb 'G.Skill F3-12800CL7D-4GBRH'.
My mobo is Asus Maximus III Formula.

If I have both sticks in the two proper slots then my pc freezes after about 2 mins after boot. If I have either one of the sticks in either of the two proper slots then it is fine -- just lacking 2GB.
If I put any number in the alternate DIMMs then it doesn't boot -- but that's normal.
This RAM is pretty much definately good RAM as it's my second pair after recent RMA.
So I'm thinking it may be a dodgy mobo.

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Fledge.

I've heard that PSU's can sometimes cause these sort of problems but I really don't know much about them. Is this possible?

Do you think it would be a sensible move to try and RMA the board with Asus, as I have no other way of getting another mobo - unless you want to lend me one :p

But then I'd still be stuck without a board for a while. Does anyone know what Asus' RMA service is like?
