Hi all i have a not bad laptop for wow but was looking at building a gaming pc for BF3 as loved bf2 but are struggling to justify spending £700 max on a new pc . I have a not bad case and dvd burner and win 7 oem , so would need the rest and a full HD tft . my question is which way do i go

ps3 or xbox and a new tv approx £500

or £700 pc (recommendations welcome )

what will i gain surely it gameplay not graphics that are important

I have both and i can say i only play the odd game on my PS3 it mostly gets used for bluray and a very expensive device to stream Media to my TV

Another thing to consider, I cant stand FPS games on a console controller its so damn slow compared to a decent mouse and keyboard, but i guess that's personal preference

if your a hardcore wow player then having the bigger/better screen and PC will be nice too for raiding

I'm kinda slanted in my opinion because I really hate playing FPS on control pads I find them unresponsive and they leave me feeling detached from the game.

BF3 on PC has 64 player maps with lots of space for vehicle combat + better resolutions and settings.

BF3 on consoles is limited to I think it's 24 player maps and locked frame rate due to console technology being pretty old now.

I own a xbox, PS3 and PC and i wouldn't play BF3 on anything but my PC.

side point on the control pad issue

there planning to allow PC gamers and PS3 gamers to play the new counter strike together, those poor PS3 players:(

Good spec for the money....i would never ever play BF3 on a console. :p

Asking that question on a PC enthusiast's forum probably won't get you the most unbiased response :)

If you aren't fussed about graphics then console is probably the way to go as long as you don't mind using a pad for shooters.

I have a ds, xbox, ps3 and pc. And i must say i jump on the ps3 for some infamous 2 and some cod, and bluray ofc, pokemon on the ds and xbox is for things like halo and gow and some call of duty now and then, but most of my time on the pc :P id say a pc
