PC or Mac for web development?

PC - it costs half as much for something twice as powerful.

The only reasons Macs are (or were) used predominantly for design is screen/print colour collaboration - the one advantage of an evil hardware conglomerate. And of course design companies were also likely to do web design... on the Macs they already had.

Yeah, they do look swish in your office but no difference functionality wise. Get what you want. I got an iMac for dev work because its a nice simple all in one solution with a great screen and I got it cheap but honestly I dont think I could justify paying full price for something like an iMac on the grounds of developing software on it.

A Mac with Coda ;)

<3 Coda :D

But to answer the OP, it's completely down to personal preference. I've always used PC's up until the last year and a half where I've been using primarily an iMac for my design work. I just prefer the operating system on a Mac and for testing you can always install a windows partition and there are other alternatives to use in OSX itself.
