Hey guys,

I need advise on my Rig which I built probably 4 years ago and I'm not really sure when its due for new upgrades. What do you guys think? :)

My specifications are :
- MSI HD 6850 Cyclone Power Edition 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

- Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor

- Corsair XMS3 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit -

- ASRock Z6Extreme4 Gen3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1150)

I don't have an ssd which I really need haha

You need the SSD.

Overclock the CPU (add a big heatsink if you dont have one).

Upgrade the GFX card (what case+PSU do you have?).

What are the main uses for this PC?

I have a Gelid tranquilo heat sink, thats what i think its called anyway. never overclocked before so a bit worried doing it haha.

I knew the gfx card was a bit old haha. I have ANTEC 300 case with XFX 750w PSU

Main uses is gaming. Play Day Z etc.

PSU is fine for pretty much anything (made by Seasonic).

The case has a length limit of which GFX cards can fit inside so things like the Gigabyte GTX970 Windforce/Gaming G1 wont fit but the EVGA GTX970 SC ACX2.0 will fit.

I was thinking to upgrade my case at some point to be honest

The heat sink I have is this one Gelid Tranquillo CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/AM2+/AM3/LGA775/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1366). Will this be okay to overclock my CPU?

Also my motherboard is not socket 1150 its 1155

Yes the Gelid is a great heatsink, good reviews and scores.

Socket 1150/55/56 are all the same fitment.
