PC outputting to TV

Hi all,

So I'm slowly learning that PC monitors aren't really all that great for outputting console signals to, and I'm starting to wonder if maybe I'd have better luck with an actual television - which apparently do scaling much better - and multi-purposing it as a monitor for my PC (on which I do also do some gaming).

My question is: does anyone do this, and can you advise on how it looks/works from the PC side of things?

I was looking specifically at the Samsung UE32F5500 for this.

Any and all input appreciated.

What you'll find out is that TVs don't make great PC monitors. If they did then there'd be no need to sell PC monitors. We'd all be using TVs. It's horses for courses.

The things that make a TV so useful for a gaming console and video use (deinterlacing and scaling and edge enhancement and accepting 50Hz) actually get in the way when using them for a PC. They're okay for casual use but not that great as a prime monitor.
