PC Performance is dropping, need advice (solved)

Hello,

I've just run 3DMark and compared it to a previous result on the same machine. The results are pretty disappointing to say the least. I need every bit of performance as I'm trying to maximise my VR performance.

I'm thinking first step is a clean windows install, but can anyone offer any other suggestions?

Would appreciate any nuggets of wisdom thanks.

Just spotted this, does it mean my CPU is knackered?

PROCESSOR
Processor - Intel Core i5-8600K Processor
Reported stock core clock - 3,600 MHz
Maximum turbo core clock - 4,603 MHz
Physical / logical processors - 1 / 4 (was previously 1 / 6)
# of cores 6

Found a fix, MSConfig advanced settings had no of cores ticked and set to 4....not something I've done...

Unticked, restarted and now running 6 cores...

Nope, bought from OCUK and built by them, all brand new...very odd
