I got this psu about 5 months ago and has been rock solid ever since then... until today. I turned my computer on in the morning and nothing happened, so thinking it might have been tool cold ot something, I tried it after uni but no luck. There was a clicking noise coming from the psu everytime I turned it on so I knew the problem must be originating from there.

Anyway, has anyone had any experience of pc power and cooling support? From what I can tell, you actually deal with ocz customer service. I hope they have a quick turnaround because I do need my pc a lot. What surprises me the most though is that this was supposed to be one of the best psus around so why would it develop this fault so suddenly?

Any component can develop a fault at any time - the more expensive parts aren't immune. It's just that a smaller percentage of them are likely to break over a similar time period.

It's like anything else - a £30,000 BMW can break down, but it's a little less likely to fall apart than a £8000 saxo.

A lot less than a Saxo I rekon!!!!!

But as you rightly said, the good thing with high quality bits is the motherboard etc will be OK and the RMA service is about the best in the industry.

I suppose. Good thing it didn't take out my other components....Only thing is I need to send it to the Netherlands which I doubt will be cheap.

And I don't think they pay for postage to them, just returning it to you? At least that's the case with OCZ ram and the reason I'm going with someone else from now on.

As far as I know no company pays for postage to them, problem is who else makes high quality PSU's that give superb RMA service?
