Hi there,

I've recently encountered an issue and my PC powers up for about a second then immediately shuts down again. I thought it was due to the motherboard, but tried a brand new one and still does exactly the same thing. I'm presuming it's either the PSU or my CPU.

Any ideas?

MSI Mpower MAX AC Motherboard (Z87)
Intel i7 4770K
Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 980
Noctua NH-U14 CPU Cooler
Superflower 1000W 80+ Gold Power Supply
3TB WD Mechical HDD
480GB Seagate SSD
16GB Avexir RAM

Thanks.

Disconnect the drives.

Take the GFX card out and hook upto the board.

Single stick of RAM.

And its the 2nd board you said.

You can try the paper clip test on the PSU and see if it stays on for longer.

Then err have a look at the socket pins.

You tried the other stick of RAM on its own? If testing the PSU and CPU does nothing then I'd run memtest
