PC problem

I'm having issues with a PC. At times it will start booting up and then shut off, other times it will boot up OK and then just switch off. Now and again it will just turn itself on for a few seconds. Now I hardly use this PC and for most of the time it is not even plugged into the mains.

I suspect it's either a PSU problem or even just the battery on the motherboard.

I know this is a bit vague, does anyone have any ideas?

Its even more 'vague' not to give specifications!

If your prime suspect is the PSU, then give its specs (along with rest of PC) e.g....

in order to help we need the pc specs and psu specs please...

does it restart? or totally switch itself off and the automatically back on?

Another thought is what cpu cooler have you, and is it fitted correctly with thermal tape/paste ?
