pc problem

okay, im having a problem with my pc

My monitor will go black, and ill get a message saying lost signal input, or no signal input. Sometimes i get a fuzzy screen or a textured (insert random colour here) screen. Its only started recently doing it, i havnt changed anything, and i have tried different driver versions and no luck, i dont think its an overheating problem on my gfx card, as ive had the fan speed set to 80% spin speed with a temp of 45-55 during games.

Also note, i have played games like insurgency and day of defeat source without a problem, but on wow and eve it does it all the time.

My system is

Windows Vista 64bit
Intel Quad core 2.4ghz
4GB ram
Ati radeon 4870 with catalyst 9.3

Have you tried a different monitor cable?

no, havnt tried that. didnt think it could be something like that, because as i said, i havnt changed anything, but if it could be a possibility, ill try

also, something i noticed, when it does happen, i notice the fan on the gfx card goes to like 100% rotation speed

Try reseating the GFX card too,does sound like an overheating problem to me.

What drivers have you tried?

tbh I'm no expert but i'm sure someone will come along and solve problem this for you.

I found 9.3 a little glitchy as a driver.Although, not the same issues as you. Have you tried 9.4? I have not had any issues with those.
