bought a brand new machine from overclockers, everything worked fine for the first few minutes, up untill the point where i put the driver installation disc for ati graphics card in, started to install the drivers and it just cut out completly, now it will not boot.

turned it back on and it will not let me start up windows. Gets to the "windows did not turn off properly" window and no matter what option i select, as soon as i press enter, the computer switches off.

have tried to start the computer in safe mode using f8 but that only gets a few seconds in before switching off again. it jsut cuts out for no reason what so ever

Some specs of the pc please?

Try booting with one stick of ram, and try different slots.

Does the graphics card need additional power, is this plugged in?

Try reseating the card.

Try doing a system restore with the Windows disc, The Windows install may of come corrupt.

crashed out before i get near there, was going to try that.

In response to stulid, because its a new system jsut came today, i dotn wanna mess around with all that stuff incase it has to be sent back (looking like it does)

ok so i ran recovery program on the mobo disc that came with the system.

Seems to be working atm although i havent touched anything to do with the ati drivers for now.

Is it recommeded to uninstall the drivers installed from the cd and download them from the internet instead?

i got an stealthxstream and it has two power connectors for the mobo, 1 eatx 20pin and 1 atx 12v 4pin my mobo also has both sockets, do i hook them both up or one or the other?
