Pc problem!

Wonder if anyone can help me. Got given an emachines PC from work, was being thrown out so will do for me mum. It's got a weird problem though, switch it on, get a single beep, monitor kicks in and you get the emachines splash with two options, boot options and setup. No keyboard will work though, doesnt do anything. Tried a USB and ps/2 as well but same problem. Anyone any ideas what I can do?

Reset cmos?
pull battery for 10 mins

tried that but no joy, same thing. its got one usb on the back and four on the front, tried a keyboard in all of them but nothing

Was the ps2 via adapter?

No mate, had an old one in work, still the same although the lights flashed up on the keyboard but still no inputs worked
