Hi all,

I am hoping someone could help with my pc problem? I would be most grateful for any assistance :)

I have a magic power which means anything I do with a PC, causes some weird unexpected trouble :(

Main HDD: 120GB SSD
Other HDD: 1TB Sata2 Drive (WD F3 Spinpoint)

I have installed a fresh copy of Windows 7 Home 64bit (purchased, not dodgy copy) on my SSD. Once everything was configured, I installed and partition/formatted the 1TB.

My motherboard is an Asus P5k P35. I was unable to install the motherboard drivers because they are not compatable with Windows 7. I did not opt to run the CD in Vista Compatability mode as Windows appeared to be working.
I did go to the Intel site and download the latest chipset drivers -File name:infinst_autol.exe Version:9.2.0.1021

The PC is about 5 days old. Today, Yesterday and the day before I have experienced the same problem when starting the machine. Whilst the machine goes through it's usual tests before you see the 'Welcome to Windows' screen, I get a very odd display. It's much like the first screenshot below, however it's black and white (due to the skewing background and text).

From here it either restarts, or gets to the Windows screen and does the strange skewing.

I have checked Event Viewer and it says the following;

It also mentions this;
Session "" failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000043

The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device Root\SIDESHOW\0001.
The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device Root\SIDESHOW\0000.

Does anyone know what's going on?

I am going to be purchasing a new case, mobo, psu, ram & cpu in the next few weeks, but I am worried there may be something wrong with the SSD etc

Which sata port have you connected the SSD drive to? The OS needs to be installed on the drive attached to the Sata_0 port (the first). I would also recommend only installing the OS drive into the case (and installing Win 7) then adding the extra drive..

Yup, I made sure to do both of what you said.
Edit:-Also just to confirm it's in the first Sata port.

Could it be due to my mobo being too old? Or because I was unable to install the mobo drivers due to them not being compatable with Win7?
