It's a very poor PSU, you'd be much better off with a high quality 550W.

Yup, that thing sounds nasty. Grab yourself a good brand PSU which will very likely fix your problem. Something like a 500-600w PSU from Antec, OCZ, Corsair, XFX or BeQuiet should do the trick.

The CoreXtream will be perfectly fine for his needs so I feel the XFX will just be spending more for no real gain.

The coreXtream aren't the usual OEM.
They're meant to not be very good, I've used one, but it certainly wasn't the OCZ 500W quality I'm used to.

Fair enough. I'd still go for the OCZ as I can't see it causing any major problems and I'm a bit of a cheapskate (Although one that knows to get a branded PSU

).

Before you buy a new psu, try swaping just one of the pci-e cables going into your gpu. I'm guessing your psu is multi-rail and you may have all the load traveling though a single rail. Even a low end psu like yours, should have enough amps for your rig.

This. Was happening to me. I had a 750w cheap-as-you-get PSU from here and that start happening, next thing I know my room was filled with smoke :mad:

Price isn't a problem for me, all I need is a PSU more or less the same size as my current PSU so that it fits in, I'd spend up to £70 on one.

For some reason I suspect CPU getting too hot and shutting down :/ Instead of PSU, I mean if its 850 and only manages to pump out 425W, it would be still enough for his system :/

This. The amperage provided on the 12v rail is very important.
