Pc problems, exiting a game

Everytime I play WoW for about 8hrs solid, when I exit the game the PC just locks on desktop. Nothing happens if I leave it, all other games are no problem just WoW? Any ideas
 
What do you mean it locks on desktop?

Does the PC totally hang or does the mouse and keyboard still respond?... :confused:
 
totally locks, no reponse from nothing. I exit the game, as soon as it hits desktop, the pc locks up, cant do anything, Ctrl+Alt+delete doesnt work etc..
 
If the PC hangs, it might not be the game at fault.

You overclocked?.... put it back at stock.

Seriously though your obviously not play it enough the PC is saying to you 'I was enjoying that!' and throwing a tantrum at you...


Even more seriously... I`d say it could be you don`t have enough memory, your paging file is too small, or you have something going wrong with memory itself.


Your playing WoW for 8 hours!??? :eek:
 
ive mem tested with no errors etc. It is very wierd, goes like this, was playing the game, logoff, comeback to the title screen. Now if I click exit, i will return back to my desktop shortly after it will lock up. BUT if i alt-Tab return to desktop no problems???? Now as soon as i right click close the program from the tab, or click the tab exit, it will lock. Do you think it is something to do with the auto-updater that starts when you exit the program? I can play 50million hours on CoVillians with no problems? Just this game that does it Well wierd. As for 8hrs it might have been an abit OTT with this figure. But I do play a lot when I'm on lates, maybe 4hrs or so :) With 2gig of RAM and a seperate Swapfile/pagefile drive im sure I have enough mem?
