Right long post incoming :p. I have been having some issues recently with my PC not performing up to par as it should. And for the last 4-5 months it's been giving me hell, hopefully with the help of you guys I can figure this out once and for all. I did just recently reformat aswell (1 week ago).

Spec are as follows:
Mobo: Gigabyte P35-DS3R (Time owned = almost 2 yrs)
CPU: E8600 @ 3.3ghz (Time owned = 7 months, 10 multi, 333fsb, voltage 1.3)
RAM: Geil 4GB PC8500 1066 mhz rec voltage is 2.4 5-5-5-15 (Time owned = 7 months, tried at 1066 and 800mhz. voltage 2.3~2.4 tried both and @ stock timings)
GFX: I did have an ATI 4870 that was just RMA'd back to me but it died again, so I'm using my 8800GTS 320mb currently and purchased an EVGA 260gtx SSC as I'm tired with the dying ATI cards.
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 320mb (Time owned = almost 2 yrs)

The Issues:

Essentially, this PC is good when you aren't multi tasking too much. I get a good 400FPS+ on WoW when I don't use any addons, but when I do it lowers to about 120FPS. But the problem is when my friends aren't on and I want to try and play their characters to quest together and run 3 clients (which should be an easy task IMO for this PC)

It runs fine even with good FPS, like 100+ on each client. But then after about 30-40 mins, I would get like random graphical sort of artifacts, like maybe one of my screens character would turn orange for example, that sort of stuff, if that doesn't happen sometimes the game just freezes for a minute or two while the last sound on my PC loops over and over then starts gradually coming backto action again, and just recently some BSODs. I don't think it's the graphics card though. Running two seems OK, but still like I said surely 3 shouldn't be a problem?

What I have tried:
- My CPU Voltage was at 1.1v after a bit of googling I saw that it was quite low and anywhere between 1.25-1.3 should help it more stable so I have it set at 1.3 atm.
- Swapping the RAM with 2GB of Corsair PC6400 (It ran 3 clients fine just like with my 4GB but again eventually PC Froze and I was forced to reboot).
- I have tested the RAM for errors before and had no luck finding anything, I think I will test them more tommorow.
- Put 4GB back in and removing Sound Card and Network Card to see if that was causing any errors, then got a BSOD.
- Oh, and Temps seem fine. When I had 3 clients open I saw CPU @ 55, GPU @ 72.

This is so frustrating for me as I really do like multi tasking a lot of stuff, I will literally pay the person that can fix it so it's stable again :P. If I can't find any errors on the RAM I'm thinking maybe MB/HDD?

having the sound hang is generally a sound card driver fault first thing i would say which may sound very silly update all your drivers even try uninstalling and reinstalling. tbh to have a chip which cant run stable on stock is very rare. try running your RAM @ 667mhz i know it sounds silly but sometimes these little things are the ones that fix things my pc only boots if the RAM is set a ratio of 5:6 lol so you should try 1:1:D

Haven't ran prime95 yet. Running Orthos at the moment, was fine this morning when I looked 5 hours into the test. (Doing Large FFT + Priority 10 if memory serves me right) will be back home soon to see if it's still OK. 10 hours of this in theory means my CPU/RAM should be fine..I suppose? Maybe I'll do memtest aswell later

You may just need more RAM to run 3 clients.

I take it you're running Vista 64bit?

My install of wow uses around 1GB of ram from the start, having 3 running would certainly use all 4gb of your ram and heavy use of swap files.

Running 3 clients on one HDD with extensive swap file use could be a issue.
