Trying to fix a m8s PC and so far having no luck.

Upon pressing the power button the screen just stays orange with nothing appearing.

Ive done all the simple stuff such as replacing mobo battery, changing ram, cleaning heatsink to no avail.

I did manage to stick a spare hdd in with xp pro on it, it didnt boot up completly but managed to turn the monitor green and allow me to enter bios. From there I was able to start formatting the drive just to test if i could get it working which I did.

From there I thought it was a simple case of putting the original hdd in and doing a format, however once I put it in nothing comes up at all. Ive tried putting the hdd in a working computer and formatting it - then putting it back into its original PC where the screen stays orange however the power stays on constantly with fans spinning.

Im running out of ideas on what to do - have cleared cmos and im sure the psu is fine as the pc stays on constant.

Specs are:

amd 3500
512mb
Some random amd board
seasonic 280w psu

Now even when I put my spare HDD in which I successfully formatted in the PC - the monitor light stays orange and nothing happens on the screen even though the PC is still on with fans running etc

I had a similar problem a little while back. Never did sort the problem out. I had to replace MB CPU and RAM in the end.

Pc would work as usual, then suddenly shut down. Then it just wouldn't start at all, not even to the bios. All the fans would be spinning though. It had been working faultlessly for years before. I tried testing ram, replacing psu reseating cpu etc, to no avail.

Sounds to me as if the board/cpu is borked - ive tried different working hdds and sticks of ram to no avail.

I dont think its the PSU as its not cutting out + fans still remain spinning etc - its just completly random lol
