I just recently got my new pc and I put all the parts together but for some reason it won't even turn on...
I was wondering if someone could give me some advice, I know that the PS is definetly working.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reading.

First place to look would be the connector from the motherboard to the power button on the machine, also make sure that the switch on the back of the power supply is switched on.

edit: sorry for the thumbs down must have clicked it accidently.

Yeah ensure youve made all the correct connections, particuarly the 8pin PSU to mobo, thats one that commonly gets missed, dbl check the pins from your case to the mobo to make sure its plugged in correct. You could try a different/old case in case its the case power button thats gone. What are your full system specs?

Okay we tried a different power supply and connected the case up to a different computer and it worked, so i think it has to be the motherboard...

MSI P43 NEO-F - SOCKET 775 - INTEL P43 - DDR2 667/800/1066 - SATA - LAN - ATX

ANTEC POWER SUPPLY 500WATT 24PIN

Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 2.80GHz (1066FSB)

OcUK GeForce 9600 GT 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) (XNE/9600TXT352-PM8694)

Corsair 4GB DDR2 XMS2 PC2-6400C5 TwinX (2x2GB)

Coolermaster Elite 330 Midi Tower Case - Black (No PSU)

The board doesn't seem to support that chip until bios version 1.6, don't suppose you have another chip to update the bios with?

So your saying i need to put a different chip in and then update the bios?
Wait it won't even start, whenever i try turn it on i get nothing...

What I was trying to say is... try another processor as only the second most recent bios supports the chip, often boards wont power if they cant read the chips details.

Are you sure that motherboard is out of data?
It's just i don't wanna have to take out the processor and put in a different one and find out that it still won't work...

I thought the board will start but show an cpu error, this has happend to me in the past.
Have you tried the above suggestions.

So your PSU and case both definately work in other PC's?
If so try unplugging everything from mobo and then turning on, you should at least get it trying to power on and error beeps to say no CPU/RAM/GPU

Is looking that way, couple of other things, does the start switch on the case work and possibly try a CMOS reset.
Can you confirm the 4 or 8 pin for cpu power is connected to the board.

apparantly with this combination the cpu fan will spin once and power down if the cpu is unrecognised.

I get absolutely no power to it so i'm going to phone up the technical support team tomorrow and then see about getting a new motherboard.
Any more advice is appreciated.
Thanks for all your help so far :D

Oh well thanks anyway the motherboard will get sent back and hopefully i can simply get a new one. Hopefully once that happens everything will start working...
