Pc problems

Hey guys i recently put to a very cheap rig for my brother, consisting on my m8s old motherboard asus a8n32-sli it has a dual core amd processor with 2gb memory, The graphics card is a x1950 pro 512mb.

The problem being the machine intermittently boots to the OS. When it does it works fine but when it dosn't it will display post and then just a black screen. Only thing you can do on this screen is ctrl alt del.

Any ideas about what could be wrong would be gr8.

Try the ram seperatley in each slot. & is the PSU good as a x1950 pro likes power.

yer i've checked the RAM and PSU is fine. From what i can tell seems to be Intermittently booting from HDD not sure if this is HDD problem or mobo/bios. Going to try installing OS on new HDD see if it works.

Try without the graphics card and stick the vga cable into the motherboard instead

run hdtune on HDD if you suspect that

the mobo dosn't have inbuilt graphics. So relying on my old graphics card. just in process of installing w7 on new HDD so i'll see if that makes a diff.
