Pc Problems

So People I am in need of help, so theres two issues with my pc I cant seem to fix

1. Everytime I leave my pc downloading for a hour or so I will come back to a blackscreen and have to reset my pc, but when I am playing games no such problems.

2. I neatly set my icons but when I restart my pc these are all mixed up and put on diffrent parts of my desktop

Any advice on how to fix these problems will be great

The first problem could be a power saving setting problem.

The icons moving can be fixed by a program called Desktopok,it allows you to save and restore your icon settings.

The desktop items one could be resolution related.. i find that Windows tends to completely mess up icon placement whenever you change the res. Do you run different resolution in desktop and games? Dual screens?
