Having a weird problem since last night, when my PC is off and theres a kettle lead plugged into a live power socket (i.e so the motherboard light is on but PC is off), i am getting a buzzing noise, i cut the power, it goes.

Tried using different power sockets and using a different kettle lead.

Just started last night, im pretty sure its the PSU doing it but i cant be 100%, system is an A8n sli deluxe, A64 3500+. X800XL and an Enermax 600w Sli compatible PSU (year and a half old about).

Does anyone have any advice? Should i switch the PC on?

Cheers.

if i were you i would not use it unless you change the psu. if it goes you can damage the rest of your pc. Have you checked to make sure there is nothing stuck in the fans on your pc?

It does it when the system is powered down so there should be no fans trying to move, yes i suppose it could damage my system, its annoying though i thought Enermax made the best PSU's.

Hmmm i have just left it unplugged for a few hours, no buzzing now, perhaps i have cleared it who knows, i thought i would tempt fate and try the PC, i had to get a CD out anyway.
