Hi guys, My friend had OCUK build him a PC and it's running REALLY slow on games. he has 16GB DDR4 ram with a i5 6600k CPU and a GTX 970 and I've tried help him install geforce experience GPU drivers.

He loaded up CS GO and on low settings he's getting 20FPS.

Any ideas on what could be going wrong?

personally i'd be taking it back to ocuk considering it's not very old.

20 fps is Intel chipset slow

Hi,

Sorry to hear of the problems you have reported, Please make sure that all the internal packaging has been removed from the machine (Blue Bag) as this could be causing the machine to overheat if it hasn't been removed, next please check where the monitor is connected, this should be connected to the Graphics card itself, which will be the ports below where the USB's and Ethernet are located.

If this is all correct, Please can you post in the customer service section and please detail your order information as well as the problem.

Please be aware that we are now officially closed, our support will resume at 8.30am tomorrow, failing that our shop also opens at the same time, if you have the free time to bring the machine back to us we can have a look at it for you while you wait.

He has the monitor plugged into the GTX 970 via DVI, I've had him try HDMI, Still not sorted the problem out, I will post pictures shortly and get him to open up a support ticket.

Here's the pictures he sent me and his temps seem fine for idle.

Make sure all drivers are up to date

Check if the GPU is correctly slotted, including the PCI-E cables going into it

What resolution? Can he run a benchmark program to check. Run with Task Manager to see what's performing.

Andi.

That's good news and a very nice build.

Do the systems built by overclockers come without os and drivers installed or is that an option?
