PC ram upgrade

hello people.

i currently have a half decent PC that is now starting to freeze up on the newly released games such as Wildstar etc. i only have 4 gb ram and i would like to increase this to 16gb ram. However i am not to sure what its compatiable with my motherboard, first time buying ram. if someone could please recommend me some ram that would be suitable for my PC thank you for your time:).

os- windows 7 64-bit
Giga-Byte GA-Z68AP-D3- my motherboard.

4GB DDR3 1333 Corsair XSM3 DIMM 240pin PC3-10600 CL9.0 - CM3X4GA1333C9N2 - this is the ram i currently have.

Are you sure its not a gpu reason?? Or maybe your ram is acting up? Corsairs are normally lifetime warranty so have a go at testing it first.

Might be a good idea to run some stress test to see the culprit. How old is your setup? Could your cpu paste need replacing? Check with realtemp on idle and load
 
i have a gtx 580 i dont see that being the problem. when i check the physical memory in task manager when im running the game its like at 90% or higher.
