Hi guys my friend has bought a pc from overclockers recently and has been experiencing regular but random crashes/reboots when the Nvidia 4080 is plugged into his monitor. He doesn’t get these when using the onboard graphics. The crashes happen even when at desktop idle.

System is a non oc 7900x xpu, 32gb ram and a non overclocked Zotac 4080.

He has tried different DP cable, hdmi cable, different monitor and removing all usb plug ins.

What else should we try?

Ddu and just Nvidia drivers? The tower did go back to OC and they couldn’t find anything wrong but the problem still regularly persists.

send it back again. i'd not be faffing about with a pre-built. at some point you're going to do something to screw the warranty. send it back and don't accept the 'we can find nothing wrong' - supply videos of the crashes happening. if it's happening as regularly as you say it should be easy to document.

PSU was checked and found to be fine it’s 1200w but regardless it would crash at idle

Bios is a good shout actually
careful of the bios update - make sure ocuk send you some sort of written/email confirmation it is ok to update as updating it will wipe/remove any oc of profiles they supplied with the pc.

To be fair we couldn’t do it anyway as he didn’t have a usb thumb drive!

It’s now also restarting whilst on the AMD chip and even in the bios. He’s taken some vids and will send it back to OCUK!
