Hi guys,

Have a problem with my PC. It randomly seems to just turn off and then restart automatically. Almost like a power cut?

i7 8700k 3.7
Prime Z370-P
GTX 1070
2 x cm4x8gd3200c16k4 (3200ghz corsair ram)
CORSAIR 750W TXm SERIES™ SEMI-MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET
2TB SEAGATE FIRECUDA 3.5" SSHD
256GB SAMSUNG SM961 M.2, PCIe NVMe
CoolerMaster Hyper 212X (120mm) Fan CPU Cooler

Its been happening for around 2 years! But i've just got on with it but it seems to be happening more now.

Would it be an overheating problem? Or is the PSU shot? What diagnostics do I need to run?

Thanks in advance.

Thats at idol - PC been on for around 4 hours. Anything look irregular?

When you say "turn off and restart" which is it?

Does the PC ever shutdown or is it just crashing and restarting?

Idle temps tell us very little if anything...nothing out of the ordinary part from high gpu temp...guessing a zero fan model as in the fan turns off completely at idle?

I have a 1070 in 2nd rig...it maxs out at 50c so that's why it caught my attention...use afterburner to change the fan curve for it if you wish.

We need to see load temps etc please :)

The first thing I would be testing is the ram....make a USB pen from software in link below and get PC to boot from it..or a cd if you wish.

Let it run for 3 loops ...should be no errors at all...even one and the ram is faulty or not running correctly.

No notice to say its restarting. Just cuts to black screen and then turns back on. Normally im in the middle of a game of CSGO or Dota (nothing super demanding) and it just cuts out and turns its self back on again.

GPU indeed - The fans dont run at idle. I shall do a benchmark run and get temps.

Sounds like an unstable overclock, guessing it don't do this while idle? Same happened to my ryzen if I clocked it to high.

Give the Gpu a good clean out with some compressed air to make sure it's not clogged and overheating.

Mine was doing the same thing recently. Would just switch off then restart usually when gaming.
Could not establish a pattern to it.

I went through everything overclocks, voltages etc.
Turned out it was the PSU. (2 year old Seasonic Platinum 850w)

Sent back under warranty & been fine ever since.
