Hi,

Couldn't find anything on the forums similar to the issue I experienced, so hoping someone may have some advice.

I've had the PC on for a few days (since Friday afternoon) was just browsing the web, when the unit became unresponsive and super slow. Mouse cursor wouldn't move in line, right clicking wouldn't bring up the context menu until a good few minutes later. Eventually i held the power button down to shut it down and restart it, since then it's all good, but it did flash up saying installing updates so now i'm worried i've messed something up.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? If so, any ideas what it could be? More curious than anything else ;)

If you have Windows 10 on your PC then it will install regular updates in the background. Depending on how old your system is & what you are doing on your PC at the time may cause this. to find out type update into the search area at the bottom & it should say check for updates.
More Instructions are here.

Thanks @Grimley for the response. I checked Windows update, the only thing i can see is an update for W10 which i installed after i restarted the PC. Guess i'll just chalk it down to some weirdness / random action. Since restart it's been fine no issues.

Recently had a similar issue and it was my water cooler that had given up the ghost so it was running too hot and became unstable. You can run coretemp to check the cpu temps.

Thanks @Lakeland wouldn't expect my cooler to go after 2 months ... but i can check it out.

Looking at the AMD Ryzen Master stats Temp is 44.63C. so within what i would call "Normal". Will keep an eye on it for the next few days and see.
