Hi,

I reinstalled Windows last week, and for the last few days my PC has been locking up / freezing randomly, it could be during web browsing or gaming. It just suddenly stops and keys have no effect, no sound etc, all I can do is hard reboot. It happened once the last 2 days and 3 times today. I did not have this problem before I reinstalled Windows.

I have tried:
- Making sure that all drivers are installed and up to date
- Increasing VRAM voltage to 1.65v
- Running Memtest for 1 hour (no errors)
- Installing "optional" windows updates
- Running HDTune test on all of my hard drives (no errors)

PC spec:
i5 4670k
ATI Radeon HD 7950 @1020/1250
8GB DDR3 1600MHz
Gigabyte Z87-D3HP
Samsung 128GB 830
ASUS Xonar D2
Win7 64bit
OCZ ZS Series 650W '80 Plus Bronze'

Any ideas what else I can try? My thinking is that the PSU could be failing. :(

Memtest needs a lot more than 1hour, I always leave it running for atleast 8-10 passes.

ok I left Memtest overnight at least 8 hours, no errors. That rules out the RAM. :p

In most cases, yes. Not in every case. A better RAM test (when experiencing crashes, freezing etc) is to try other RAM that you know works fine and do everything that would cause the freezes with the other RAM. Maybe a friend could loan you some RAM if you don't have any spare.
