Hi guys, My PC freezes at random anytime doing anything, even just browsing the web, My mouse slows down till it cannot move anymore which is 2-4 seconds or so and my PC freezes and I have to use the shutdown button on the PC I get no BSOD or anything.

My temps seem to be in order 33-35C on the CPU at idle

GPU is 45C according to GPU Z at idle 1030RPM

Downloaded Crystal Disk and all my SSD's and Hard drives are "Good"

Specs are i5 2500K, GTX 780 Gigabyte Rev2, Samsung 840 Pro which my OS is on, MSI Z77A G45 Motherboard, EVGA SuperNova G2 850W which I just installed recently, As I thought this was a PSU problem before, Which is no longer the case as it's still happening sadly.

I've used Memtest for 2 hours no errors.

Any suggestions?

Are you using the latest bios for the motherboard?
In addition, have you checked out the event viewer? Maybe it will have some useful information there.

Yeah i'm sure I have the latest bios upgraded it a couple of months ago, However I looked in event viewer and it says Critical numerous times expanding 3 months it's called Kernel power, which is this

The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

Sounds like the issue.

Check memory usage via task manager...sounds like something is eating up all the ram?

Had it in game before due to memory leak glitch in game but not when just browsing.

Can't see it being that unless it's spiking and I don't notice, It's on 3.39gb used atm with CS GO open, I have the Corsair low profile ram 8GB kit.

If l understand correctly you had the same issue before getting a new PSU, right? If so, l would suspect that the motherboard is defective.

Have you tried removing the 780 and use the iGPU of the 2500K just to make sure that is not the GPU? Furthermore, does this happen when running in safe mode?

Installed a few more drivers, If I crash again I'll take the GPU out for a few days and see if it crashes, Not tried safe mode.

Evian,

When this was happening to me it turned out to be a defective GTX770, I RMA'd the system and they replaced the GTX770 for a new one and the problem went away. Prior to sending the system back I took out the graphics card and ran the system on the onboard graphics and the system did not freeze.

I was experiencing freezing whilst web browsing, playing video back in windows media player, as soon as the system started up.. but never whilst playing games. :S
