It's happened 3 times now, not sure what is going on.

Basically my PC shuts off completely, the lights on the mobo stay lit, hitting the power button turns it back on, sometimes need to turn it off at the back for a couple of seconds and then it turns back on again. No changes to hardware recently at all, temperatures are fine, happened twice while playing Fallout 4, and once when using Visual Studio.

I've just used an air duster to remove any dust from the GPU and mobo, and I've also changed where it's plugged so it's now in a different wall socket. If these 2 don't work then what's the likely cause? Faulty PSU?

Is your cpu/gpu overclocked? If yes then first reset everything to stock and see if the problem returns.

It is, CPU has been overclocked since I bought it 2 years-ish ago, and it's only started happening recently, the only change I've made in that regard is using EVGA precision automode to change the clock speed (underclock) of my GPU so fallout doesn't go above 70fps. Could that be a possible cause?

give it a go without any overclock. may be don't leave evga precision running in background as well to be sure.

I've removed EVGA precision firstly, will see if that solves it, if not I'll remove the overclock on the CPU and see if that resolves it, if not I'll report back.

Cheers!
