PC randomly rebooting!

Was hoping someone could offer some advice on my problem. My spec is:

Gigabyte dq6 motherboard
e6300 with a scythe ninja plus
7800gtx gfx card
2 x 1gb g.skill ram
pioneer dvr109
4 x 300gb sata hdds
black gold pci tv card
Hyper type r 580w PSU
All running at stock - no overclocking

The PC has never been stable since I put it together, BSODing normally when I watch a film or listen to some music, but rebooting too quickly for me to see the error message. The Last couple of days though, it seems to be just shutting off in Windows and then booting up again, as if someone has pulled the power out. Occasionally when it powers back up all the fans spin up to full speed and nothing happens.

I've tried different ram, it made no difference. Disabled onboard audio (for the original bsod problem) but still made no difference. I've put Vista on another partition but that has the same symptoms so i'm not sure what to look at next as I don't have any other bits I can swap out to test. The CPU seems to idle at 44 and load at 51ish (in speedfan) so I can't believe it would shut off at those temps? I'm slowly going crazy trying to work this out!!

i've tried a virus scan and a fresh install of vista 32bit and 64 bit on a brand new hdd with no others plugged in, same story. Haven't got another PSU to try but it does seem to be the front runner at the moment. It was working ok in my last rig, but you never know do you!

thanks for all the help guys!

Blue screens cant be a good thing......

You could ideally write down those BSOD messages and track down what they are caused by.

the problem is they flash up and go in a split second so I don't have time to see any of the text, very frustrating!! nothing in the event logs either so i'm stuck on that front! I'm gonna get hold of another PSU I think and see if that makes a difference, fingers crossed!

There's a setting in windows that tells the PC to reboot when it blue screen's, i can't remember how to change it off the top of my head, but i'm sure someone else here can.

Instantly Reboot Upon a System Fault

Start/Run/Regedit. Navigate to...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CrashControl

In the right pane choose AutoReboot/Right Click/Modify. Change value to 0 to disable and 1 to enable.

What is the G.SKILL? I had G.Skill 6400 NR with my DQ6 and could not get it going at all.
When I replaced the RAM with Geil 6400 Lo Latency stuff it all just worked regardless of BIOS version

Can't remember off hand, but it's always booted ok with it in, not had any of the problems with memory other people have reported. Also tried it with 2 other makes of RAM but get the same problems, so i'm not sure that it's memory related.
