Had this happen a few times lately, occasionally while gaming and occasionally on the desktop. My pc is plugged into a surge protector and im wondering if that has anything to do with it, or is it possible im pulling too many watts for the psu.

There's 7 fans going in my system, 3 intakes along the bottom of the case 3 on the heatsink and an exhaust. Rest of the specs are in my sig though im pretty sure I should be fine with this psu even though its a few years old now. Realpower 850. Currently im only using the ssd and a separate mechanical hard drive as the raptors aren't connected.

In terms of power the PSU is ample but does not rule out a possible fault.

What happens when you stress just the CPU and then the GPU.

I assume all the temps are ok and no loose terminals / connections.

Was running prime 95 earlier with no issues, my gpu has had issues with temps due to my case layout though I've been running afterburner and checking temps and it seems to settle around 92c or so for battlefield 4.

Starting to wonder if it may be something to do with the surge protector.

Temps for the GPU are looking on the high side.

What happens when you bye-pass the surge protector.

They are a bit high but that's really how this card runs, 1 gpu is generally around the low 80's the one further back in the card is the one that runs hotter. Im gonna have to snag a 4 way cable to plug it in without the protector to se if that makes any difference.
