Hi all

Had my PC a good couple of years now and come across the first issue since I built it. Today for some reason my PC would turn on and do nothing, my antec 920 fans stopped spinning so I plugged the fan into a different port on the motherboard which cured it. Then it stopped working again, then worked etc etc.

I played about with cables to see if it was a loose connection without success. Now I have the cooler fans working and the PC booting up with BIOS available. But once it begins to load windows it BSOD's every time?

I have reset the CMOS by taking the battery out and restored setting to default. This hasn't done anything.

I've re-connected all cables to the PSU to check if one was loose.

The PC went through a stage of starting up for 5 seconds then shut down.

It was making me think it is maybe a PSU issue (Ocz 1000w)

Anyone had any similar experience or have any cure recommendation please shout up :-(

Thanks

Matt

No ideas anyone. I've tried to boot into safe mode and it gets half way through loading basic windows files and drivers then blue screens?

Starting the think I may have some corrupt files or the SSD has packed in?

Sorted the **** after lots of head scratching. The first problem was the Cooler fan stopped working (I still do not no why). So after playing about I reset the CMOS, this also reset all settings in BIOS including the AHCI mode it was set to for the SSD's (This was reset to IDE mode)

That is why it failed to boot up Windows in any mode.

Problem is now fixed.

Don't think there is one no. It's working fine now. Yesterday It would work one second then stop. Then if I plugged it into a different fan port on the MB it would work for a few start ups then stop again until I tried another fan port. It's now plugged back into the original CPU fan port on the MB and working fine.

I'll keep an eye on it over next few weeks. Keep getting tempted to upgrade the GPU to a 780 and go fully water cooled also.
