Hi all, just a quick question as this is minor inconvenience thats only just started to happen

Basically after 5/10 mins after having my PC off overnight (not unplugged etc just off) the PC will shut down and auto reboot itself, no error message or anything at all but then it will be absolutely fine for the rest of the day, fully stress tested, gaming etc the lot, no issues whatsoever

It's only just started to happen, i've tried loading optimised defaults in the BIOS etc, does anyone have any ideas? thank you :)

Could it be a faulty BIOS battery? Just seems odd how it's fine all day and then left switched off, the cold boot has issues.

I assume you're trying everything stock to rule out the overclocks?

Everything is at stock yeh, and thats what I assumed too but it remembers my BIOS settings even when I first boot... that is the only thing I can think of as well though, I guess theres no harm in trying to replace the battery and giving it a go as the PSU and everything else is purring along just fine, I tried to stress test everything like mad to rule out hardware failure and everything is flawless

Edit: My mobo has a clear battery button as well, I may give that a go and see if it just needed "resetting" due to an unplanned shutdown or something to that affect

Certainly sounds like a hardware issue to me. My old machine developed an issue with the gfx card (possibly a dry joint) where it wouldn't boot or displayed graphical corruption until it was warm!

It became normal practice to turn the PC on, give it 5 minutes to warm up and then it would work perfectly until it was switched off and left to cool down overnight.
