I've got a rough idea what is causing this and I think it's the overclock, but need your advise to be sure.

The PC can be on all day, browsing the web, playing vids & music and it'll be 100% fine. Playing BF3, it can be temperamental. Twice in the last 2 weeks, the PC has rebooted in the middle of playing BF3 and I think it's down to the overclock on my board being at 4.4ghz, VCORE is at 1.3 ish -/+0.2-3.

Errors is as follows:

Log Name: System
Source: Microsoft-Windows-WHEA-Logger
Date: 17/04/2013 17:57:18
Event ID: 18
Task Category: None
Level: Error
Keywords:
Description:

A fatal hardware error has occurred.

Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Machine Check Exception
Error Type: Bus/Interconnect Error
Processor ID: 4

The reason the overclock is at 4.4ghz is to remove the bottleneck for the fact I have 2 GTX660's in SLI, giving me a respectable FPS in most games, BF3 is 70+.

Would I be correct in thinking that it's now about time I upgraded to a 3770k as intended? Would reducing the O/C to 4ghz & VCORE to stock be worth trying first? I have reason to believe my motherboard is struggling to keep up, hence the issues here.

I was thinking about the 3820, but not sure I would use it as it was designed and it's expensive for what it is.

Any help would be ideal, thanks.
