Hello All,
I've recently discovered this forum after buying some components from overclockers UK and I am hoping some for you guys can help me out.

I've recently bought a extra Hdd and media card reader for my PC and have run into some sever reliability issues since there installation. Initially my problems revolved around a driver issue with my GFX cards, the screen would randomly black out for a few seconds before returning with a message say a particular driver had stopped working and needed restarting.

My first course of action was to update my drivers but problems arose as the updater did not recognise the model of the cards (The cards are classed in divice manager as radeon 3800 HD and are in crossfire, my assumption is that these are infact 3870 HD cards). Rolling back the drivers has now resulted in my PC failing to start up in anything other than safe mode. The system loads up to the windows loading bar screen (windows vista premium 32-bit) but automatically reboots there after.

My concern is that one or both of the GFX cards where damaged during installation of my new components as it was quite a tight fit getting them in. Alternatively I wonder if the new components have overloaded the PSU (which is 500w), I'll provide my PC's spec once back from work.

I'm desprate to get my PC up and running again as I'm starting evening classes in October and really want to get some gaming in before I have to hit the books again!

All help and advice is greatly appricated.

You could try unplugging all the 'extras' and seeing it how it goes,
CPU, a ram stick or 2, 1x gfx card, 1x HDD

Try and replicate instability then plug in stuff one by one, if you find instability unplug that item and skip it to the next one, see if the instability is still there (or if it re-appears)

Sounds like your PSU is not up to the job tbh

What temps are the GPUs since that error normally occurs when overclocking ie to high clocks or overheating. If it's a good PSU, it should be fine. However what's the rest of system?
